The last three of 17 CC-130Js currently on order for the Royal Canadian Air Force are going through final acceptance procedures at the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta. Deliveries will complete in early May, many months ahead of the original schedule. Canada’s new CC-130Js have already been deployed to support a wide range of missions and the new fleet will give Canada greatly enhanced flexible airlift capability for decades to come. The 250th C-130J Super Hercules built at the Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] facility here was delivered to Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, on Feb. 16, 2012.
This is the 15th C-130J delivered to the 317th Airlift Group at Dyess since 2010 and the second of 11 aircraft to be delivered to the base in 2012. 436 Squadron proudly marked the 5,000th hour of flying time with the CC-130J Hercules aircraft on Monday, 6 February 2012.
“Last Friday was a significant day for 8 Wing as we marked the five thousandth hour of CC-130J’s flight time,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Colin Keiver, Commanding Officer 436 Transport Squadron. “This is a remarkable achievement considering the first J model Herc was delivered to 8 Wing Trenton just over a year ago.”

Lockheed Martin’s [NYSE: LMT] C-130 Hercules program has reached yet another historic milestone with the delivery of its 2400th aircraft. The aircraft is an MC-130J Combat Shadow II assigned to U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command and will be operated by the 27th Special Operations Wing at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M.

Maj. Butler, the commanding officer of the Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron detachment in Afghanistan, talks about how the Marine Corps uses the KC-130J in Afghanistan. Maj. Butler and the Marines of VMGR-252 are deployed out of Cherry Point, N.C. The KC-130J Hercules is the largest aircraft in the Marine Corps arsenal.
