Lockheed Martin invests $4 million in the University of New Brunswick

Lockheed Martin today announced funding of $4 million for the University of New Brunswick to support the work of the University’s new research centre – the High-Speed Impact Research and Technology Facility – which will concentrate on the development of new forms of impact-resistant materials and structures.  Lockheed Martin’s contribution will be used to purchase specialized launching and test equipment and to fund impact testing and materials research.  The Honourable Jim Prentice, Minister of Industry, welcomed the news. Lockheed Martin today announced funding of $2 million for Dalhousie University to establish and fund a research program to further exploration and development in the areas of quantum mathematics, quantum physics and computer science as well as other new, emerging fields of science and technology.
