Marietta, Georgia – Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] delivered its sixth C-130J Super Hercules to the 146th Airlift Wing, California Air National Guard unit yesterday at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, Calif. The aircraft was flown from the Lockheed Martin Ga. production facility in Marietta to its new home by Maj. Gen. Charles Ickes II, Deputy Director of the Air National Guard and Col. Steven Friedricks, Commander of the 146th AW.

In late 2006, Canada selected the C-130J Super Hercules to be the Canadian Forces new tactical airlifter. 17 new C-130J-30s will replace Canada’s aging C-130 fleet that has been indispensable to Canadian Forces operations at home and abroad over the last four decades.
A C-130J Super Hercules from the 146th Airlift Wing of the Channel Islands Air National Guard Station will be on display at the Abbotsford International Air Show on August 10, 11 and 12, 2007.
